General Information
Planula B&B Retreat Byron Bay offers you beautiful holiday accommodation. We offer spectacular accommodation, set within 2.5 acres of tropical landscaped gardens just outside of Byron Bay. You will love the relaxed atmosphere created in this modern B&B-style retreat. Whether you choose to stay for a romantic weekend away of a weeklong escape, we assure you a most enjoyable experience!
PLANULA offers 5 bedrooms, each with modern ensuite bathroom, one with a double spa overlooking our gardens. All stays at PLANULA include extensive continental breakfasts each morning with plunger coffee, home baked bread or muffins, a fresh newspaper and much more.
The extensive decks around the house, the lush tropical gardens and the large grass area in the back are perfect places to unwind. Enjoy our extensive collection of CDs and games in the spacious living area or relax with a book under the cathedral roof.
PLANULA is a place to relax and unwind. We do however have FREE wireless broadband in all guest rooms and common areas (even on the shady decks outside). If you don't have a wifi compatible laptop you can use PLANULA's for a nominal charge.

SCUBA DIVING, SNORKELLING, INTRODUCTORY DIVE
Spend some time under the water at Julian Rocks Marine Reserve, which is now part of the Cape Byron Marine Park. The marine life is varied and abundant, because tropical and temperate currents mix in the waters in the Bay.
You do not have to be a certified diver to experience the underwater world in Byron Bay. Go for a snorkel and see the turtles, rays and fish from a different perspective.
For the more adventurous visitors: try an introductory dive. After spending some time in the pool, your instructor will take you for an ocean dive to experience Julian Rocks to the max!
WHALE WATCHING IN BYRON BAY
During the months May, June and July the majestic Humpback Whales pass Byron Bay up close on their journey to their calving and breeding grounds further north. During September and October they come past Byron Bay again when they migrate back to the Antarctic. For a close-up spectacle book a whale watching trip and cruise the Bay. We have several pods of bottlenose dolphins in the Bay and in a kayak you can experience them without harrassing these special mammals, and have loads of fun and be active at the same time. - Mountain Bike Tours: A totally awesome Mountain Biking Adventure! Tours run every day from Byron Bay. Feel the freedom and experience the exhilaration as you fly down the spectacular trails in the lush, subtropical rainforests. LIGHTHOUSE
Three kilometers from Byron Bay you can find the lighthouse, Byron Bay's landmark, built in 1901. It stands 22 meters tall, 94 meters above sea level. Until today it remains a shipping aid and its light is the most powerfull in the Southern Hemisphere. Daily tours give visitors and locals the oppurtunity to find out more about the history and have a look inside. The area directly surrounding the lighthouse is perfect to see the local dolphins and turtles. During May till October each year it offers a great location to watch the Humpback whale's migration
