Little Wangi Bay Holiday Accommodation
Address - 63 Watkins Rd Wangi Wangi, 2267
General Information
My family have lived in Wangi Wangi for 30 years. My children have flown the nest, so I have converted the upper story of the family home to a self-contained apartment, which I rent to visitors to Lake Macquarie.
We are on the water's edge on the northern side of the Wangi Peninsula.
Wangi Wangi is a peninsula on the western side of Lake Macquarie, see the map. Boating and fishing are popular with the local residents.
It is mainly residential and has a village atmosphere. Wangi is largely untouched by tourist development. Considerable bushland and waterfront reserves remain. The peninsula has walking trails on the foreshore and in the reserve at Wangi Point.
Wangi was the final home of the renowned Newcastle artist William Dobell. His house is open to the public on weekends.
Our home is on the waterfront, where the water is clean and reasonably deep. The lake bottom is sandy and it is an ideal spot for swimming. The locals regularly catch fish and crabs out the front.
The apartment has a double bedroom, a combined kitchen-dining room and a lounge room. It also has a large veranda. It is comfortable and tastefully furnished, without being luxurious.
We are about 1 km. from the local shops, restaurants and clubs. These can be reached by road, or there is a waterfront walking trail.
