General Information
Crabbes Creek Cottages were built in 2004 and allow you to enjoy the sounds, wildlife and lifestyle of the Australian bush yet be close to pristine beaches such as Wooyung and South Golden Beach. A short drive and you can be in the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast or be shopping and surfing at Byron Bay. There are also many crafty villages close by and on weekends there are the local markets. National Parks surround this beautiful area, which is the ideal spot to leave all stresses behind, grab a book or DVD from the extensive library at Reception - and chill out.

Location Description
The basic directions from SOUTH are easy: from Byron Bay - keep going north, bypass Brunswick Heads, roundabout, keep heading north over River keeping on main road, Ocean Shores on right, then past Billinudgel on left, few twists then you reach the start of the new Yelgun to Chinderah Freeway (110kms to Brisbane most of the way). Take the right turn-off to Murwillumbah - don't go on the Freeway - onto the old highway now called Tweed Valley Way - you actually drive over the Freeway and keep heading north. Crabbes Creek is the first turn left after the Tweed Shire welcome sign - this is just after going under a (sadly now defunct) railway bridge. Once on Crabbes Creek Road you pass the school, the General Store and keep going approx 2.74 kms over 3 creek xings till you see a low set pale green house on the right - #274. That's Reception. The time from the Byron Bay area to Crabbes Creek is approx. 20-25 minutes.
There are three ways from NORTH to Crabbes Creek Cottages -these directions begin once you are out of Tweed Heads.
1) The quickest: after passing over Tweed River bridge at Banora Point, take the new Chinderah to Yelgun Freeway almost to Brunswick Heads. You actually pass Crabbes Creek (at 110kms) on your right before you turn left (now down to 80kms) at the sign for Murwillumbah/Tweed Valley Way, the old Pacific Highway. You drive back over the Freeway and head northwards - then as for above directions. Takes 25-30 mins.
